There’s a brand new breakfast show in town as regular daytime presenter Jeff Diack wakes up at the crack of dawn every morning.
The Aberdonian brings his infectious energy to the airwaves, with all the biggest hits, local news, competitions and a whole host of fun from 6am to 10am every weekday.
Alongside Jeff is a voice familiar to listeners of the station’s Homerun show, Lauren Mitchell. Lauren joined Northsound 1 after winning a talent search competition run by the station in conjunction with North East Scotland College. She’s now making the switch from Homerun with Andy James to breakfast with Jeff to look after the roads during the morning commute.
The dynamic duo hits the breakfast airwaves this week on the North-east’s number 1 radio station. Previous host Micky Gavin will take the helm of the Northsound 1 Workday show from 10am to 2pm.
It’s been a great year for Jeff Diack who returned to Northsound 1 last March, the station where it all started for him. With 13 years of radio broadcasting under his belt, he has previously hosted shows on Northsound 1 and sister station Forth 1.
Jeff will have to face the morning frost in his new role, something he didn’t have to deal with during his time spent hosting Nile FM’s breakfast show in Cairo, Egypt.
Speaking about the announcement, Jeff Diack said: “I’m so proud to be the new breakfast show presenter on the station I grew up listening to. I’ll help listeners kick-start their day by getting them up and out of bed with local news, the biggest hits, great chat, celebrity gossip as well as many surprises along the way!”
