NHS Grampian Charity is inviting local charities, community organisations, researchers and NHS Grampian colleagues to apply for funding to deliver ambitious projects that could make a lasting difference to the health and wellbeing of people across Grampian.

The charity has opened its Lasting Impact Large Grants Programme, aimed at supporting projects with the potential to deliver significant and sustained improvements to physical and mental health, wellbeing, and quality of life across Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire and Moray.

The programme will prioritise projects that can demonstrate a clear and tangible benefit for patients, carers, and communities, and respond to an evidenced health or wellbeing need. This could include projects focused on preventing ill health, reducing health inequalities, improving mental health and emotional wellbeing, strengthening community-based support and access to healthcare, supporting children and families, or testing innovative and evidence-informed approaches.

There is no set minimum or maximum award for the programme. Instead, applicants are being encouraged to consider the level of investment genuinely required to deliver meaningful impact and to demonstrate that their proposals offer good value for money.

Lisa Duthie, Charity Lead at NHS Grampian Charity, said: “We know that some of the best ideas for improving health and wellbeing come from those who work directly with patients and communities every day.

“Through this programme, we want to build stronger partnerships with local charities, community organisations, and our healthcare and research colleagues, bringing together our collective knowledge, experience and resources to make a real, lasting difference.

“We want applicants to think about what could be possible, rather than designing a project around a predetermined funding limit. That doesn’t necessarily mean that projects need to be large. What matters is the difference they could make, whether through the number of people reached, the depth of benefit achieved, or the potential to create lasting improvements in health, care, or support across Grampian.

“We are looking for projects that respond to a clear need, have strong potential to deliver meaningful outcomes, and can demonstrate that the level of investment requested is proportionate to the benefits they aim to achieve.”

Applications will be considered through a two-stage process, beginning with an Expression of Interest.

At this initial stage, applicants will be asked to outline the problem or opportunity they want to address, who will benefit and how, the difference the project could make, why charitable funding is needed, and an estimate of the funding required. Expressions of Interest must be submitted by 12pm on Monday 9th November 2026.

Following assessment of the Expressions of Interest, applicants with the strongest proposals will be invited to submit a more detailed full application.
