Decommissioning and late-life specialists NMC Energy has been awarded a multi-year, multi-million-pound contract by Spirit Energy to provide project management and specialist services across its operated asset portfolio.

Effective from 1 December 2025, the five-year agreement includes optional extensions and will see NMC Energy support Spirit Energy’s capital (CAPEX) and decommissioning (ABEX) activities. The scope aligns with Spirit Energy’s strategic objectives of safely delivering production from existing assets, meeting and de-risking decommissioning obligations, and pursuing energy transition opportunities.

Under the contract, NMC Energy will act as an extension of Spirit Energy’s delivery team, bringing specialist late-life asset management and decommissioning preparation and readiness capability to support safe and cost-effective project delivery. The approach prioritises collaboration and strong alignment between contracting parties, while maintaining a consistent focus on safety, quality and cost throughout execution.

Konstantin Nazaruk, managing director at NMC Energy, said: “Winning this contract is a significant milestone for NMC Energy. It reflects the strength of our relationship with Spirit Energy and the confidence they place in our people to deliver critical late-life and decommissioning scopes safely and efficiently. We look forward to supporting Spirit Energy across its UKCS portfolio, applying our agile decommissioning expertise to help de-risk delivery and drive cost-effective outcomes.”

The contract will deliver tangible benefits to Spirit Energy, including specialist project management, proven technical expertise, and a shared safety culture - directly improving schedule certainty, reducing cost exposure, and ensuring efficient delivery of capital and decommissioning scopes.

The award will drive growth within NMC Energy’s Aberdeen team and strengthen engagement with the wider supply chain, supporting local jobs and expertise.
