NMC Energy is pleased to announce the appointment of Joanne Rostant , Gary Mitchell, Richard Jackson and Kenneth Nicolson to its growing Aberdeen-based team, further strengthening the company’s expertise. 

The appointments reinforce NMC Energy’s continued growth and commitment to supporting safe, efficient and high-quality delivery across the late life and decommissioning sector.

Joanne joins the business bringing more than 25 years of experience providing safety engineering support to offshore and onshore oil and gas operations in the UK and internationally. Her career has spanned both operator and consultancy environments, supporting operations, brownfield modifications, drilling and wells, and major projects. Joanne has held a number of senior technical and process safety roles, including Technical Authority for an oil and gas operator, and is recognised for delivering risk-informed solutions that enhance operational integrity and safety performance.

Gary Mitchell joins NMC Energy as Head of HSEQ, bringing over 25 years of health, safety and environmental leadership experience across the UK and international markets. His background spans major oil and gas projects and high-risk operational environments, where he has consistently delivered strong HSEQ performance, strategic leadership and positive safety cultures. Gary’s leadership style is shaped by his distinguished background in both the military and emergency services, providing him with exceptional people management and crisis response capabilities.

Richard Jackson joins the company with extensive experience delivering major capital projects and decommissioning programmes within the oil and gas sector. With a multidisciplinary background spanning operators including Apache, EON E&P UK, Neptune Energy and Dana, alongside well service companies SLB and Archer Well, Richard has held a range of senior positions including Head of Decommissioning, Project Director, Integrity Director and Pipelines Technical Authority. He is passionate about early careers development and promoting transferable skills across the industry.

Richard said: “NMC Energy has the potential to become a leader in the safe and efficient delivery of decommissioning globally, and I’m excited to be part of that journey.”

Kenny Nicolson joins NMC Energy as a Project Manager and Chartered Engineer with more than 17 years of experience delivering complex energy infrastructure projects across offshore renewables, HVDC transmission and decommissioning. Having progressed from Project Engineer into senior project leadership roles, Kenny brings extensive technical and strategic delivery expertise gained from projects across the UK, Europe, Malaysia and West Africa. His experience spans developments from early concept and FEED through to offshore installation and decommissioning.

Kenny said, "Joining NMC Energy at this stage of its growth is an exciting opportunity. I’m looking forward to leveraging my subsea experience to complement and strengthen the company’s established topside and EDC expertise, enabling delivery of practical and fully integrated solutions."
