People across Aberdeenshire are being encouraged to put forward those everyday individuals who are making an extraordinary difference in their communities by nominating them for the Inspiring Aberdeenshire Awards 2026.

The council‑led awards celebrate the people and groups who invest their time, passion, and energy into supporting local causes, projects and communities.

Provost of Aberdeenshire Judy Whyte said: “Now is the perfect moment to shine a spotlight on the quiet champions of our communities and show them the appreciation they truly deserve.

“We’re eager to honour their remarkable efforts with an unforgettable evening at our awards ceremony - an opportunity for us to say just how much we value and applaud the work being done to make Aberdeenshire a better place for everyone.

“We’re encouraging people to reflect: is there someone you know who selflessly dedicates their time to a group, initiative, or cause? Someone whose actions have made a genuine difference, yet they never look for praise or acknowledgement?

“These are exactly the individuals we want to celebrate - the people who give their energy and commitment not for recognition, but out of a deep desire to make a positive impact.”

The awards will cover six categories, highlighting the varied ways people and groups contribute to their communities:
