Four businesses that have worked with Opportunity North East Limited have secured national recognition and funding to help accelerate their growth.
These awards shine a spotlight on the ambition, innovation and entrepreneurial talent emerging from the north east.

Highland Heritage Woodworks from Westhill secured £100,000 through Scottish EDGE. The business specialises in the milling, kilning and supply of home-grown timber, delivering a truly local "forest to front door" approach.
Tuko Baby from Stonehaven was awarded £70,000 through Scottish EDGE. Ben Leonard has developed the world's first baby carrier precision-engineered for dads, combining innovative design with sustainability and practicality.
LotusDx received £10,000 through Wild Card EDGE. The healthtech company, based in ONE BioHub is transforming access to sexual health testing through fast, private at-home STI testing, helping improve access to early diagnosis and treatment.
Bilayer in Miltimber secured £10,000 through Young EDGE. The company uses AI to predict how drug molecules enter and remain within bacteria, helping scientists develop new antibiotics more quickly and cost-effectively.
