Aberdeen based diamond wire cutting specialists CUT have completed another major decommissioning project.
CUT’s 74”, 72”, 36”, 18” and 10” diamond wire cutting machines were used to accomplish a wide variety of external cuts on a large offshore platform jacket to allow removal.
Operations were completed while working off a newly constructed self-elevating heavy lift jack-up vessel in the Southern North Sea.
CUT scope of supply included the provision of engineering, project management, cutting equipment, supporting equipment (HPU, umbilical spooler, fairleads, deployment baskets) and experienced offshore personnel for external cutting of the existing jacket.
The project was completed safely, on time and within budget. The highly experienced CUT offshore team operated all equipment applications throughout the workscope.
Bruce Sinclair, business development manager said: “We were delighted to get this scope completed, and have our personnel home for Christmas!
"Our entire team have done a remarkable job this year ensuring successful cutting projects were achieved all over the world.
"The decom market is strong, clients appreciate the certainty that CUT provide, and the outlook for CUT in 2026 is extremely positive.”
