The Northern Star Business Awards 2026, organised by Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Brodies LLP, has raised a record amount of money for two local charities.

More than 800 people packed P&J Live on April 17 for the glittering ceremony, the biggest business party of the year, hosted by broadcaster Edith Bowman.

The awards – run by Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce, in association with Brodies LLP - recognise successful and growing businesses that make a positive impact on the North-east economy.

During the evening, guests raised funds for two local charities, Clan Cancer Support and Aberdeen Cyrenians. Both organisations carry out life-changing work across the North-east, and the money raised will help support their vital services.

Now, after all the generous donations were counted, AGCC can confirm a record-breaking total of £12,331 was raised.

A special mention must go to Swagelok Scotland for an incredible donation of £2,500!

Russell Borthwick, Chief Executive of AGCC, said: "A huge thank you to each and every individual and business who dug deep to support these fantastic charities.

"Clan and Aberdeen Cyrenians work tirelessly to support those affected by cancer and by homelessness respectively and change lives every day.

"We're delighted to have made both organisations our charity partners for this year's Northern Star Business Awards and look forward to continuing to work together with them as valued members of the Chamber."

Aberdeen Cyrenians provides practical, trauma‑informed support for people who are struggling, in crisis, or at risk of homelessness. The team focuses on helping people earlier, improving wellbeing, and addressing the everyday pressures that make life harder - such as money worries, mental health challenges, digital exclusion and wider social issues - so people feel safer, better supported and more able to move forward.

Clan Cancer Support is the longest standing commercially independent cancer support charity in the north of Scotland, with all services sustained entirely by fundraising.  Clan provides emotional and physical support to people impacted by cancer across North-east Scotland, Moray, Orkney and Shetland.

Donna Hutchison, CEO at Aberdeen Cyrenians, said: “The total raised on the evening is truly exceptional, and we cannot thank Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce and all those who contributed enough for their generosity. This level of support demonstrates the strength of partnership between the business community and the third sector, and it will have a direct, positive impact on the lives of people we support every day.”

Fiona Fernie, Clan’s CEO, said: “We’d like to sincerely thank the guests of the Northern Star Business Awards for digging deep for local charities on the night. The amount raised for Clan will cover the running costs of our patient accommodation in Aberdeen for one week - providing a safe and comfortable stay for patients and loved ones travelling to the city for cancer treatment at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

“This is a significant boost to us as a self-funding charity and we’re very grateful to the Chamber for selecting us as a charity partner for the event, helping us raise funds and awareness for our lifeline cancer support services across the North-east.”

The 2026 awards are supported by bp, Royal Bank of Scotland, Cala, Bilfinger, Aberdeen International Airport, Marks & Clerk, Score, Balmoral, True North Advisors, Adura, University of Aberdeen, Swagelok Scotland, Business Gateway Aberdeen City & Shire and Robert Gordon University, LNER and Aberdeen Football Club.
