Northwood’s recent inaugural roadshow for landlords, letting agents and investors was such a success that it is set to become a biannual event.
Unlocking Opportunities: The Roadshow for North-East Landlords, held last month at The Robert Gordon University, was a free educational event for anyone interested in property who is looking to stay ahead in a fast-changing market.
Northwood Operations Director Matt Pullinger said that the intention had been for the roadshow to become an annual fixture in the property calendar; however, feedback from the 45 attendees was unanimously in favour of the event being held twice a year.
The panel of expert speakers comprised Frankie Bishop, Client Relations Manager at SafeDeposits Scotland, Elspeth Boyle, Director of Landlord Accreditation Scotland, and David Gibbons-Wood, Senior Lecturer in Economics at The Robert Gordon University, as well as Matt and Northwood Owner and Director Laura Mearns.

With a combination of market insights and expert-led discussions, they covered everything from economic and property trends affecting landlords in the North-east to ensuring legal compliance and fostering professional development, providing an insightful and valuable opportunity for anyone invested in the region’s private rental sector (PRS).
Matt said: “We were exceptionally pleased with the success of our inaugural event; it went very well, and we had a lot of positive feedback from those attending. The speakers really brought the topics to life giving the audience the confidence to make best practice the standard approach to looking after their properties and tenants.
“Key market trends and insights were shared, along with information about where best to find reliable information in advance of considering buy to let options. There were also comparisons with other UK cities in the UK and the current landscape of the North-east property market.
“We look forward to hosting our next event soon and continuing to provide an educational space for landlords to share insights and experience gained.”
