More than 200 children got a big surprise today (June 22) at a Teddy Bears’ Picnic at Duthie Park in Aberdeen.
They – and their teddy bears - were entertained with songs and dance by Once Upon A Time as part of the event, which was organised by Aberdeen City Council Countryside Ranger Service.
The youngsters came from six nurseries across the city for the Picnic which was held in front of the Pavilion.
Communities, Housing and Infrastructure Vice-Convener Councillor Jean Morrison said: “It was great to see all the little children at our beautiful park outside in the fresh air, having a great time and learning new songs.
“The Countryside Ranger Service is holding a huge range of events taking place at the park during the summer holidays so I’m sure some of the children who were here today will be taking part in those.
“There are lots of things to do within the park itself including water features, playparks, café, Japanese Garden, the Winter Gardens, and lots of great spots for a picnic, and it’s within easy walking, cycling or a short bus ride from the city centre.
“We hope lots more youngsters and their families come and enjoy what we have at Duthie Park in the next few weeks – with or without their teddy bears.”
The youngsters were encouraged to explore the rest of the 44-acre park after the Picnic, which was sponsored by Friends of Duthie Park.
