Odfjell Technology’s Aberdeen office takes pride in being an approved partner of the Young Person’s Guarantee (YPG) pledge partnership.
The YPG is a joint commitment to provide opportunities for all 16–24-year-olds in Scotland through jobs, apprenticeships, further and higher education, training programmes and volunteering.
In partnership with Developing the Young Workforce (DYW) North East, Odfjell Technology is actively exploring ways to support local young people as they transition into the world of work.
Current initiatives include:
- Foundation Apprenticeships: In Autumn 2024, Odfjell Technology will welcome two foundation apprentices to their Global Business Services (GBS) division. These young people will spend one day per week with the company over nine months, gaining valuable work experience and earning a recognised qualification in Business Skills.
- Careers Fair Participation: The company will participate in a career fair at Westhill Academy in November.
- Mock Interviews: Odfjell Technology recently reached out to onshore employees asking if they would be willing to participate in mock interviews at local schools. The response was overwhelmingly positive, and employees look forward to conducting these sessions later in the year.
- #NoWrongPath Campaign: As part of the Scotland-wide #NoWrongPath campaign, Odfjell Technology will collaborate with DYW North East to highlight examples of #NoWrong Path. This campaign aligns with the announcement of Scottish exam grades and emphasises that there are many valid paths to success.
