North Sea offshore workers employed by Aberdeen-based Wood Group have begun a 48-hour strike in a dispute over jobs, pay and conditions.
The industrial action involves electrical, production, instrument and mechanical technicians working on Harbour Energy’s Britannia, Jasmine, Judy, Lomond and North Everest platforms.
Unite general secretary Sharon Graham said further strikes are planned for October 20-21 and November 3-4.
A Harbour Energy spokesperson said: “Our priority remains the safety of our people and assets.
“We continue to work closely with all our contractors and expect to maintain safe and reliable operations and production across our business.”
Wood said it had been notified of the action and that the safety of its personnel and operations remained its top priority.
