Local charity Archway is offering one lucky runner the opportunity to take part in the 2027 TCS London Marathon on Sunday 25th April through a coveted Golden Bond place.
With the public ballot now closed and places harder than ever to come by, this is a rare chance to take on one of the world's most iconic races while changing lives at the same time?
Archway is looking for one enthusiastic runner to join Team Archway and experience the unforgettable atmosphere of Marathon Day, cheered on by hundreds of thousands of spectators lining the streets of London.
For almost 40 years, Archway has supported almost 200 children, young people and adults with learning disabilities, autism and complex health needs across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire. Through respite care, supported living and residential services, the charity helps people live full, rewarding lives while providing invaluable support to families and carers.
Janine Davies, Fundraising Manager at Archway, said: "The London Marathon is on so many people's bucket list, but securing a place through the public ballot has become increasingly difficult. This Golden Bond place offers someone the chance to experience an iconic event while making a life-changing difference for local people.
"Our runners were so committed to their training and fundraising journey, and last year's team formed lasting friendships while raising an incredible amount for Archway. We'd love to welcome one more person to Team Archway for 2027."
The successful applicant will receive a guaranteed London Marathon place in return for committing to raise a minimum of £2,500 for Archway. The charity will provide fundraising support, ideas and encouragement every step of the way.
Janine added: "Every mile completed and every pound raised will help us continue providing specialist equipment, accessible outings, life-enhancing activities and opportunities that bring joy, confidence and independence to the people we support. It really is an opportunity to achieve something extraordinary while changing lives."
