St Margaret’s School for Girls welcomed several new families to the school on Friday, November 11 for their working open morning, in which prospective students and their parents got to see what a normal school day is like. Working open mornings operate differently from regular open mornings, in that the school is still in operation for existing pupils.

The event toured several groups, capably lead by a team of prefects and staff, around the St Margaret’s campus in the heart of central Aberdeen. Of particular interest to visitors was the junior school, in which young girls receive specialist teaching from 1J onwards.

Families were also able to see the outdoor spaces and play areas in which the children, especially younger children, play creatively after working hard in the classroom. The spacious, secure, creative and pleasant outdoor area was a huge success with visitors.

Head of St Margaret’s, Ms Anna Tomlinson, shared her thoughts on the busy day:

“We were delighted to welcome so many visitors to our open morning. Prospective families can, of course, come to visit the school on any day by appointment.”

Open mornings allow those interested in becoming a part of the school community to ask questions and see for themselves that St Margaret’s has a lively and supportive culture, which challenges and inspires girls to be the best they can be.

The next open morning will be held on Friday, December 9. Those interested can find details of how to register their interest on the St Margaret’s School for Girls website: www.st-margaret.aberdeen.sch.uk.
