OPEX Group, a technology company specialising in data intelligence solutions is supporting an innovative school mentoring scheme.

Seonaid McIntosh, Chief Operating Officer and Donna Liddle, Vice President of Business Development are making a difference in the lives of young students from Hazlehead Academy in Aberdeen through one-on-one mentoring. The MCR Pathways Programme pairs young people facing challenges in their lives with dedicated mentors from diverse professional backgrounds. By providing these students with positive external role models, the national programme aims to improve their behaviour, attendance, and overall well-being while fostering personal growth and development.

Seonaid McIntosh, the driving force behind OPEX's involvement expressed her enthusiasm for the initiative. "I am delighted to have introduced the programme to our employees. Mentoring offers a unique opportunity to share our experiences, knowledge, and guidance, empowering these students to overcome obstacles and achieve their goals”.

Donna Liddle said "Engaging with my mentee from Hazlehead Academy, one of our local schools, has been an incredibly rewarding experience. Witnessing the power of one-on-one mentoring has been truly inspiring. Through the programme young individuals are exposed to positive role models, enabling them to overcome challenges, improve their behaviour, and attend school more regularly.”

Mhairi Middleton, Partnerships Manager North at MCR Pathways added " We are delighted to have OPEX as a partner in the programme. Through one-on-one mentoring, remarkable individuals like Donna and Seonaid serve as inspiring role models, positively impacting students' behaviour, attendance, and overall wellbeing. We extend our gratitude to OPEX and encourage more businesses in Aberdeen to join us in creating a meaningful difference in the lives of our young people. We particularly urge male mentors to step forward, as their involvement fosters diverse and inclusive support networks that are crucial for our young learners' growth and success. "
