Scottish Development International, in partnership with Santander, is holding a roundtable discussion this month on the key issues for companies seeking to take advantage of the opportunities in Mexico.

The event will look at:

  • environmental permits
  • insurance
  • securing receivables/dispute resolution

Delegates will hear from speaker Enrique Garza, senior partner at Clyde & Co LLP who has a law degree from the Universidad Iberoamericana in México City. Has an experience of over 25 years in energy, maritime, ship finance and insurance law, representing foreign and national companies in most of the major transactions and casualties in the Mexico and has assisted many foreign service companies with their organization and operations in Mexico.

Also speaking is Mark Walsh, senior partner at Clyde & Co LLP practicing exclusively in the offshore energy sector. He has a wealth of experience acting both for energy companies and contractors, in particular rig, FPSO and vessel owners, and specialists in the fields of offshore construction including windfarm installation, subsea construction, and pipe and cable laying. Before studying law as a postgraduate, Mark studied engineering. He is a member of TecBar and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
