UK subsea companies are being given the opportunity to present their latest products and services to the global wind community in Hamburg, Germany next month.
WindEnergy 2018 will highlight the different ways in which wind energy is breaking new ground and will run parallel to WindEurope to create a high-powered, unique platform for businesses to network, share ideas and form potential partnerships.
Industry body, Subsea UK, will be running a Subsea Theatre at the event and is inviting subsea companies to present an overview of their services and highlight their unique offerings to the global wind sector. The Subsea Theatre will be situated on the UK Pavilion which is hosted by Renewable UK and the EIC.
Each company will be allocated a 20-minute slot to promote their expertise, advanced technologies and capabilities, while discussing recent projects and industry successes.
Exhibitors, visitors and conference participants at WindEnergy Hamburg are expected from some 100 countries. In nine exhibition halls more than 1,400 exhibitors will be present. The event attracts 35,000 visitors and there will be the opportunity to discuss and debate a range of topics including innovation, subsea installations, global opportunities and inspection.
Neil Gordon, chief executive of Subsea UK, said: “This is a unique opportunity for subsea companies to get in front of the top players in wind energy and discuss how they can be supported by the subsea sector.
“Renewables is currently a big focus for the industry and the Global Wind Summit provides an excellent platform to learn more about the sector and engage with other parts of the supply chain. There is great potential for subsea companies to get involved in offshore wind, providing operational support, including work in operations, maintenance and repairs.
“Our Subsea Theatre will see companies which are currently active in the wind sector showcase their latest innovations, product highlights and projects. It will also welcome those looking to diversify into renewables, and how their current offerings could be adapted to benefit the wind sector. We are very excited to be able to showcase the expertise the UK subsea industry has to offer.”
