Outdoor enthusiasts benefit from improvements at Cromdale

Aberdeen’s premier outdoor activity provider Adventure Aberdeen, which is part of registered charity Sport Aberdeen, is set to benefit from refurbishment work to its Cromdale Outdoor Centre.

Cromdale Outdoor Centre is Adventure Aberdeen’s residential base in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park. Just outside Grantown on Spey, it is ideally located for land based outdoor activities amongst the gorgeous Strathspey scenery.
Commenting on the improvements, Sally Duthie, Sport Aberdeen’s Cromdale coordinator, said: “We have had a new external decking area installed, which is fabulous for relaxing and socialising after a day of adventuring. Internally, refreshed kitchen and dining spaces and improved storage and shower facilities, have together greatly improved the centre into a comfortable base for our outdoor activities.”

Previously operated by Aberdeen City Council, Kingswells based Adventure Aberdeen has provided outdoor education and adventure activities for local people and visitors young and old, for over twenty years. Over the years, thousands of local people have enjoyed trips and mini breaks with friends and family at its Cromdale Outdoor Centre.

Sport Aberdeen’s director of healthy and active communities, Keith Gerrard said:

“Adventure Aberdeen’s dedication to providing top tier outdoor activities is second to none and the improvements at the Cromdale Centre will help improve the experience of everyone who visits – and right in time for the warmer months as well.

“At both our Speyside and Kingswells facilities, our highly trained and expertly qualified staff support people of all ages and abilities, to take part in outdoor activities such as mountain biking, rock climbing, abseiling, canoeing, kayaking, sea kayaking, gorgewalking, coasteering, surfing, orienteering, scrambling, hillwalking, expeditions, wilderness skills and team building away days.”
