Charity counselling service Pathways has unveiled two refurbished counselling rooms at its Aberdeen base which have been transformed by volunteers from homebuilder Cala Homes (North).
Cala employees picked up paint brushes and got to work decorating the rooms at the Powis Circle community centre.
As well as volunteering the team’s time, Cala also donated pieces of showhome furniture and finishing touches to complement the new-look spaces and ensure they are a welcoming environment for both staff and the people receiving counselling.
Cala is committed to supporting the wider communities in which it builds homes as part of its Community Pledge programme and is currently continuing to establish its Green Bank at Grandhome neighbourhood in Bridge of Don.
As part of the Community Pledge initiative, the housebuilder introduces activities, donations, initiatives, volunteering drives and much more to each local area for which it is creating lasting communities.
Malcolm Pritchard, Manager at Pathways, said “We really appreciate the help from Cala Homes in refreshing the decor at our centres counselling rooms, and making them look more calming and relaxing.
“Our clients have also been absolutely delighted with the new look and often comment how warm and welcoming the rooms are.
“Our counselling rooms have a new lease of life and will provide a comforting backdrop for everyone we support.”

Formed in 1998, Pathways is a registered charity providing support services that are particularly targeted at the regeneration areas of Aberdeen city. Their services include help to get back to work, a counselling service and a dedicated domestic abuse counselling service.
