Abrasive wheels, such as grinding wheels are present in many workplaces, from manufacturing plants to construction sites. While invaluable for processes like cutting, grinding, and polishing, abrasive wheels also pose safety hazards if not used properly. Accidental wheel breakages can lead to serious injuries from expelled fragments.
This training aims to equip attendees with comprehensive knowledge about the safe operation of abrasive wheels. Participants will learn essential precautions, techniques to identify potential hazards, proper storage methods, and mandatory inspections required prior to use. By completing this program, delegates will possess the critical competencies necessary to work with abrasive wheels while prioritizing workplace safety and mitigating risks.
Patriot's new abrasive wheels awareness course covers all these topics through a mix of classroom instruction and hands-on demonstrations.
Upon completing the four hour awareness course, attendees will understand the dangers of abrasive wheels, be able to identify and report defective wheels, know how to properly mount and guard wheels, learn proper PPE requirements, and more.
The course is derived from HSG 17, Health and Safety executive guidance on abrasive wheels.
