PD&MS Group, a leading provider of integrated engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services, is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a significant Topsides Modification Project by a leading operator on a platform in the North Sea.
The project will support production with the integration of a new well into the platform’s existing infrastructure. PD&MS will deliver project management, detailed engineering, procurement, fabrication, offshore construction, pre-commissioning and commissioning support through to final handover.
The scope includes modifications to the platform’s production, test, flare, drain, wash water, methanol injection, annulus management and associated utility systems. As the work will be undertaken within an operational brownfield environment, careful management of technical and operational interfaces will be key to maintaining safe and efficient execution.
The project will be delivered by PD&MS’s Aberdeen-based engineering and project delivery team, headed up by Bruce Murdoch, PD&MS’s Head of Engineering, and building on the company’s established relationship with the operator and its understanding of the client's systems and requirements.
Early engineering definition, constructability reviews, long lead material management and work pack development will support the delivery strategy, alongside close coordination with drilling, operations, vendors and other project stakeholders,
Danny Sutherland, Contract Manager at PD&MS said: “We are delighted to have been selected to deliver this significant Topsides Modification Project. This award reflects the strength of our existing relationship with the client and the confidence placed in our people, systems and integrated delivery capability. Our team brings extensive experience in brownfield engineering and flowline execution, and we look forward to working collaboratively to deliver a practical, efficient and high-quality solution, without compromise to safety or quality.”
The award further demonstrates PD&MS Group’s experience in delivering complex offshore brownfield modifications across the full project lifecycle. Drawing on its experience of flowline and well hook-up projects in the UK Continental Shelf and international markets, the company will apply proven workflows, multi-discipline engineering capability and integrated project controls to support safe and predictable execution.
PD&MS is committed to working as one integrated team with the operator and its project partners to manage interfaces effectively, maintain clear communication and support the safe and successful delivery of the project from detailed engineering through offshore execution, commissioning and final handover.
