PD&MS Group, an Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning (EPCC) company headquartered in Aberdeen, has secured a framework contract with Spirit Energy for the provision of onshore and offshore execution services.

The agreement is for an initial five-year term, with options to extend for a further two plus two years.

The contract will see PD&MS deliver execution services across Spirit Energy’s portfolio of assets and interests. The scope includes a full range of EPCC services, from modifications and life-of-field support to enable safe and efficient production, through to collaborating with Spirit Energy to deliver decommissioning obligations and unlock energy transition opportunities from existing assets.

This award builds on a long-standing relationship between the two companies, which dates back to 2017. During this time, PD&MS has established itself as a strategic partner to Spirit Energy, supporting both onshore and offshore projects across the East Irish Sea and the Greater Markham area.

Projects delivered to date have drawn on PD&MS Group’s full asset lifecycle capabilities including front end consultancy, complex projects and modifications, asset integrity maintenance and repairs, TAR and campaign management, operations support services and major onshore and offshore decommissioning projects.

Recent project milestones have further demonstrated the strength of this collaborative approach. Steve Grant, Decommissioning Execution Manager at Spirit Energy, commented on the recent removal of gas turbines at the North Morecambe Terminal: “PD&MS managed the engineering, disconnection and demolition of redundant gas turbines at Barrow Terminals. The scope was completed on time, on budget and incident-free. Spirit Energy and PD&MS, together with our key project partners, worked collaboratively to create a strong project culture that laid the foundation for safe and successful delivery.”

This successful delivery highlights the strength of the partnership and the value delivered through close collaboration. Mark Davison, Group VP Engineering & Technical Services at PD&MS, said: “We’re delighted to secure this latest contract with Spirit Energy. Building on nearly a decade of collaboration, many of our people have worked directly across Spirit Energy’s terminals and assets, giving us a deep, practical understanding of their operations.

This long-standing relationship, underpinned by shared values and aligned cultures, allows us to operate as a truly integrated partner, driving efficiencies, reducing costs and delivering time savings.”

The contract award further underlines Spirit Energy’s confidence in PD&MS as a trusted delivery partner.

Headquartered in Scotland, PD&MS Group provides fully integrated EPCC and O&M services to the energy and industrial sectors globally. In 2023, PD&MS became part of the RSK Group, further strengthening its capabilities and broadening its service offering.
