Perigus Energy, a leading player in the renewables market, has integrated Cegal’s Cetegra as the foundation for its GIS platform supporting its European onshore business. The cloud-native solution provides secure, scalable access to GIS applications, while aligning with Perigus Energy’s IT strategy and enterprise governance requirements.

Formed following Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners’ acquisition of Ørsted’s European onshore business, Perigus Energy develops, builds and operates onshore wind, solar and battery storage projects across the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, and Spain. The organisation builds on an established portfolio of assets and projects, alongside a strong development pipeline. While the name is new, the organisation brings together experienced teams, proven capabilities, and long-standing operations across key European markets.

While Cetegra is widely used in subsurface and the wider energy industry, this implementation marks its first adoption within onshore renewables, extending the platform into a new operational context.

Supporting Perigus Energy’s European Onshore Renewable business through platform modernisation

As part of the strategic portfolio transition from Ørsted, Perigus Energy needed a modern approach to delivering its GIS application landscape, within a tight deadline. The organisation required a platform that could provide secure and reliable access to critical GIS applications while supporting collaboration between internal teams and external stakeholders.

At the same time, the solution had to align with Perigus Energy’s cloud‑first IT strategy and offer a predictable operational model during a period of organisational change. The organisation needed a solution that could be deployed.

quickly, operated consistently, and adapted as requirements evolved - without the overhead of investing in or maintaining physical infrastructure.

Leveraging positive previous experience with Cetegra at Capricorn Energy, Najya Batool, GIS Manager for Onshore Ireland and UK at Perigus Energy, recognised the platform’s capabilities and chose to engage Cegal for the delivery of the GIS platform.

The solution - Cetegra on Azure

Following a thorough assessment of requirements and close collaboration with Cegal’s Sales team, Cetegra was implemented as the core foundation for Perigus Energy’s GIS platform. This vendor-neutral cloud solution is specifically designed to provide energy companies with a single, secure environment for accessing applications and data, independent of the underlying technologies or cloud services.

Purpose-built for the energy sector, Cetegra integrates a high-performance digital workspace with scalable, cloud-native functionalities. This enables efficient management of data-intensive workflows, seamless collaboration across geographically dispersed teams, and strong governance through secure access control and optimised performance.

The solution was implemented within a dedicated Microsoft Azure environment, integrating Cetegra’s high‑performance digital workspace with managed infrastructure and advanced security services. This approach enabled Perigus Energy to centralise its GIS applications within a secure, cloud‑native platform, while retaining strong control over access, governance, and operations.

Cetegra provides a consistent user experience through a secure workspace, with the potential to support broader energy applications, while Azure delivers the scalability and resilience required to support both day‑to‑day operations and changing business demands.

By adopting this cloud‑based platform, Perigus Energy removed the constraints associated with fixed infrastructure and focus instead on accessibility, performance, and continuity.

“Perigus Energy’s journey demonstrates how cloud‑native platforms like Cegal’s Cetegra can support complex transitions while maintaining strong governance and operational clarity. We’re very pleased to welcome Perigus Energy as a customer and to support them with a platform designed for scale, security, and collaboration.” said Dean Proctor, Senior Key Account Manager, Cegal

The outcome: secure, scalable GIS across Europe

The move to Cetegra delivered clear benefits for Perigus Energy. The new platform provided a secure and robust GIS environment aligned to enterprise governance standards, while enabling rapid deployment in support of time-critical business objectives.

Performance can be scaled to match project and asset needs, and the operational model supported a smooth transition into live service. Equally important, the solution ensures continued collaboration across geographically distributed teams by providing consistent, secure access to applications and data.

“Cetegra has provided us with a secure and scalable platform that aligns well with our cloud‑first approach. The transition was handled efficiently and effectively by Cegal, with close collaboration ensuring seamless continuity during this critical business transition”, concludes Najya Batool

Cetegra enables energy companies to seamlessly integrate robust security and governance with the flexibility of a cloud‑native platform, supporting long‑term IT strategies whilst also providing the agility needed to respond to change, eliminating unnecessary infrastructure complexity.
