With new HM Revenue & Customs legislation coming into effect in May 2016, Petrasco Energy Logistics, a leading provider of freight forwarding solutions, announce the appointment of George Jenkins as Customs and Compliance Manager commencing March 1.
Speaking of the need for this kind of industry expertise, managing director Kevin Buchan says:
“This position has arisen due to significant customer demand. As the need for tighter cost control deepens, expensive delays due to compliance inaccuracies that could be avoided, are untenable. We have always been proud of the decades of freight forwarding experience within our operations but the addition of George’s 30 years service with HMRC will give Petrasco a highly competitive advantage which is virtually unparalleled within the Aberdeen market.”
Stuart Webster, regional manager at the company’s Aberdeen facility adds:
“Our reputation hinges on our ability to provide bespoke solutions for the most complicated of shipping requirements, the experience we now access with George Jenkins’ appointment takes this offering to a whole new level. George will hit the ground running as we offer a series of face-to face meetings which will promote the value of our new services with existing and potential clients outlining the new legislation which is about to come into effect.
"Failure to comply with HMRC regulations and the potential penalties which that may incur is a number one cause of cost overrun. As a regulation expert, George Jenkins is an invaluable addition to our skills base and a huge asset to our customers.”
