Robert Gordon’s College launched a brand-new children's holiday camp provision in April, to great acclaim.

The camps, which featured a mix of activities including football, hockey, rugby and academic revision, took place during the Easter break at Countesswells Sports Field and Schoolhill campuses, and were open to pupils from any school for the first time. More than 120 children attended the RGC Camps’ inaugural sessions, and the reviews are in!

Linzi Ryan, Enterprise Manager, shared: “With an average experience rating of 4.9 out of 5 stars, and 100% of those surveyed saying they would recommend RGC Camps to others, we think the results speak for themselves. Wonderful staff and outstanding facilities were among the top highlights, receiving glowing reviews from both current Robert Gordon’s College families and the wider community.”

A parent commented: "Brilliant staff who engage with the children and make the camp fun and developmental," with another adding that their child “really looks up to the coaches and takes in every word and piece of advice!"

At the heart of the RGC Camps experience is the creation of a friendly, inclusive environment for all, and we are delighted to have welcomed so many new faces, with almost 50% of total camp attendees enrolled at other schools.

One parent highlighted: “Thanks for opening up to non-RGC students, my son really enjoyed himself and was really enthusiastic about it!”. Another reflected that the experience had ultimately informed their decision to enrol their child at the school next term: “We have been considering RGC for [our daughter] for some time. The hockey coaches were very enthusiastic and welcoming, helping us to make our decision.”

Easter Revision Academies, part of the RGC Camps umbrella, were by no means exempt from the glowing feedback: “I think for students who find studying independently more challenging, it is really useful to be in a small group situation where they can discuss their understanding with peers and other teachers. The structure was very beneficial for my daughter, who is dyslexic, and can find the planning and focus required for independent study difficult,” said a parent.

And, straight from the source, one Revision Academy attendee summarised: “The physics revision camp simplified the topics where I was weak which then helped me understand them. I found this camp very beneficial and would recommend it to a friend if they are struggling.”
