Pinsent Masons has added to its corporate energy team in Aberdeen with the appointment of mergers and acquisitions specialist Caroline Harwood.

Caroline joins the international law firm from Addleshaw Goddard as managing senior associate and will support clients on a mix of corporate and commercial energy work, including, M&A transactions, joint ventures, group reorganisations and advisory work.

Richard Scott, Pinsent Masons’ Head of Aberdeen office, said: “Caroline’s 17-year plus career in corporate law, spent mainly in the Aberdeen area, adds strength to our corporate energy team who work for major businesses in the north east, many of which have extensive international operations.”

Caroline added: “Pinsent Masons has an excellent track record of advising clients in the upstream merger and acquisition space as well as on UK and international energy services M&A. The quality of the work and culture and experience of the UK and international M&A colleagues were strong motivators in my decision to join the firm.

“The firm’s strong local and international presence will give me the opportunity to work on high quality local M&A as well as cross border transactions from the energy hub of Aberdeen. I am  looking forward to contributing to the ongoing success of the corporate energy team in Aberdeen.”

Caroline will work alongside Aberdeen based corporate energy partners Brian Thumath and Chris Sawyer , who joined the firm last year after 20 years working across in-house senior and general counsel roles with a number of global energy companies.

Pinsent Masons also announced a number of promotions in its Aberdeen team - Emma-Louise Beadie and Charlotte Booth are now Managing Senior Associates, while Natalie Shand, Stuart Fraser and Rachel Trease have been promoted to Senior Associate.
