Piper Sandler’s Sportschallenge is set to return to P&J Live this September, with organisers confirming the charities that will benefit from one of the North-east’s longest running corporate fundraising events.
Since its launch, the annual event has raised more than £1 million for charities across the region - combining a high-profile evening of sport and entertainment with fundraising that delivers direct support into local communities.
The 2026 dinner will once again support Maggie’s Aberdeen and Children’s Aid Scotland, alongside three further organisations selected for the strength and impact of their work: Team Jak Foundation, Asthma and Allergy Foundation and Murtle Market.
Team Jak works with families facing childhood cancer from diagnosis onwards, providing social, emotional and practical support through its Aberdeen base, Jak’s Den, and outreach support to hospitals and schools.
Asthma and Allergy Foundation, Scotland’s only dedicated asthma charity, delivers education, training and support to help people better manage a condition that continues to result in needless hospital admissions and preventable deaths.
Murtle Market, part of Camphill School Aberdeen, gives young people with complex additional support needs the opportunity to build confidence, independence and work skills through a community-focused social enterprise.
This year’s outing will also see broadcaster Amy Irons join Andy Nicol on hosting duties, with Nicol returning after previously fronting the event on a number of occasions.
For Trustees, the focus remains firmly on backing charities where funding makes a clear difference.
Nick Dalgarno, Sportschallenge Trustee, and Managing Director at Piper Sandler
Nick Dalgarno, Sportschallenge Trustee, and Managing Director at Piper Sandler said: “Every year we see local charities, often without a big profile, doing an incredible amount with very limited resources. That’s exactly what stood out again this time. These organisations are making a tangible difference across Aberdeen, and this gives them a platform they wouldn’t normally have.
“The impact is immediate, the money raised goes straight into supporting people day to day, but just as important is who’s in the room. You’re connecting these charities with businesses that can back them longer term, and for many of them, that’s where the real change happens.
“It’s also an evening people genuinely look forward to. It’s well run, it doesn’t feel like work, and it brings the business community together in a way that’s enjoyable but still purposeful - which is why people keep coming back.”
Taking place on Thursday 10 September at P&J Live, Sportschallenge, delivered with support from CNR International, continues to attract strong backing from across the North-east business community.
A limited number of team places remain available, with tables of 10 priced at £1,800.
