A new poll has found that the majority of people in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire are in favour of building a community sports stadium at the beach - and using public money to fund it.
Diffley Partnership, commissioned by True North Advisors, designed and carried out what they are calling the “most detailed and comprehensive” public survey ever conducted in the North-east.
The results, exclusively revealed in The Press and Journal this morning, show that of the 1,300 surveyed, 61% either supported or strongly supported the development of a multi-sport community stadium at Aberdeen Beach.
And crucially, the poll also showed support for the use of public funds in the community stadium's construction.
A total of 66% supported Aberdeen City Council funding the project, 80% wanted to see the Scottish Government contribute financially, and 62% said money should come from the UK Government.
