Port of Aberdeen, a proud host partner of the Tall Ships Races Aberdeen 2025, is commissioning a unique painting to commemorate this spectacular maritime event.
The artwork will take pride of place in the port’s offices at Regent Quay.
What we’re looking for:
An Aberdeen-based artist to capture the spectacle of the Tall Ships Races Aberdeen 2025, the vibrant port atmosphere, and the spirit of Aberdeen’s maritime heritage.
Inspiration and materials:
- We can provide high-quality photographs for reference.
- You’re also welcome to work from your own images or creative interpretation.
Style:
Realistic, impressionistic, or atmospheric - as long as the ships and setting are recognisable and the piece conveys celebration and pride.
Medium:
Oil, acrylic, or high-quality mixed media.
Size:
To suit prominent wall display in Port of Aberdeen’s offices. (Final dimensions to be agreed but please base quote on 1.5m x 1.2m)
How to apply:
All entries should be submitted by noon on Tuesday 26 August to Sara Milne, Communications Advisor via email to s-milne@portofaberdeen.co.uk.
Submissions should include the following:
- Examples of your work.
- Artist’s background and links to website and/or social media.
- Approximate quote based on a 1.5m x 1.2m commission. This can include framing if this is an option.
The selected artist will be contacted by Sara Milne no later than Friday 5 September.
