Scottish rockers Primal Scream have been announced as the second headline act at the Enjoy Music Festival all dayer on Saturday June 3.
One of the defining bands of the 90’s, Primal Scream released the seminal Screamadelica album, performed the title track for the film Trainspotting, and enjoyed a string of hits including Rocks and Country Girl. Last year the band toured around the world in support of their critically acclaimed Chaosmosis album.
The festival’s marketing director, Mark Lenthall of Chamber member Digital Love Events said “When it comes to Scotland’s greatest bands, Primal Scream are right up there. From the Pyramid stage at Glastonbury, to T In The Park and Reading, they have played them all, so we’re thrilled to be bringing the band to Aberdeen this summer. With T2 Trainspotting hitting cinemas now, what better festival act could we have!”
Primal Scream join London duo, Chase & Status at the fast growing event in Aberdeen’s Hazlehead Park on Saturday June 3. With the rest of the bill to be announced in the coming weeks, organisers are promising music fans their biggest event yet.
Festival managing director Russell Aitchison said ”As well as incredible live music there will be attractions for the whole family, with amusements, rides, workshops, magic shows and specialist kids entertainment. There‘ll also be great food and drink and for those looking for a few extra festival comforts, a VIP area.”
The Enjoy Music team also say that ticket prices make it one of the most affordable festivals in Scotland. Russell added “Early bird tickets sold out in record time and our family ticket, where kids go free is proving very popular. With Primal Scream now added to the bill there is even more reason to join us on June 3”
