Aberdeen-based Prism Energy is launching an upgraded version of its project management software, Prism Apps.
Managing director Andy Sutherland, made the decision to further develop the system to enhance the experience for thousands of global users, making it more intuitive and streamlining navigation.
The development of Prism Apps began a decade ago to complement the consultancy services offered by Prism Energy. As a project manager himself, Andy recognised the need for a faster, easier alternative to Microsoft Excel that was more cost-effective than the software solutions already on the market.
Between 2016 and 2020, multiple modules were added to the system such as Risk Management, Action Tracking and Lessons Learned. The software is now used on major CAPEX, ABEX, and OBEX projects in multiple industries around the world.

With customers commencing the switchover to the new version of Prism Apps from September 1st, Andy said: “Clients can rest assured that we’re enhancing, not removing any of the current functionality within the system. We pride ourselves on the customer service we provide, and our in-house software development team are available five days a week to answer queries.
“At the end of 2024, the team reported making over 400 development modifications to Prism Apps throughout the year, mostly in response to client requests. This highlights our adaptability and commitment to responsiveness. Many of these updates are now built into Prism Apps 2.0 as standard features.
“The main aim of the software is to reduce the time normally spent on administrative tasks associated with project management. This frees up teams to focus on higher-value work, driving efficiency and better project outcomes. In the new version of the software, users can now raise a Risk, Action, Management of Change (MOC), or Lesson Learned in just a single click.”
Strengthening the launch of the upgraded software, Prism Apps now also has a dedicated website designed to clearly and concisely communicate the software’s purpose and capabilities. To find out more, visit www.prismprojectapps.com
