The private care sector has expressed strong interest in buying a vacant and surplus 60-bed Council-owned care home in the West End.
Rosewell House on King’s Gate has had a number of strong proposals put forward with four shortlisted from the specialist private care sector showing confidence in this sector and commercial property in Aberdeen.
Information about progress on the potential sale was agreed at today’s Finance and Resources Committee (30 September 2026).
Committee convener Councillor Alex McLellan said: “We welcome the interest from the care sector in the former Rosewell House property.
“The significant interest from the sector shows the confidence in this type of property in Aberdeen which is positive news for the wider commercial property sector.”
Any potential sale of the building will be subject to formal missives including appropriate legalities for the agreed term including appropriate timescales for completion of due diligence, conclusion of missives, and settlement.
