PSS Process Safety Solutions has successfully completed a major upgrade of CODRA Panorama software on a North Sea offshore platform, marking an important step in strengthening the resilience and cyber security of critical energy infrastructure.

The project was delivered without any downtime, ensuring production continued uninterrupted throughout.

The upgrade included the introduction of network-level redundancy, the application of the latest operating systems and patches, and hardening to IEC 62443 cyber security standards.

By completing the work in a staged and carefully managed execution, the PSS team was able to future-proof the platform for long-term operations while maintaining operational continuity.

The upgrade brings a number of benefits to the operator, including:

  • Enabling secure remote operation, reducing the need for offshore personnel.
  • Extending the reliability of legacy infrastructure by building in redundancy.
  • Meeting regulatory and compliance requirements through robust cyber security standards.
  • Ensuring confidence for years to come by implementing EU-recognised accreditations such as ANSSI and NIS2.

This project demonstrates how independent engineering expertise can deliver measurable improvements offshore while meeting the growing demands of cyber security and operational resilience in the energy sector.
