A group of Primary 5 pupils from Cults Primary School visited CALA Home’s Cults Park development to learn about how a new development of homes is created.
30 pupils were welcomed to the development’s sales suite by marketing manager, Emma Gelati, to hear about the advantages and disadvantages of land developments, the impact on the community and the stages of applying for and gaining planning approval from senior land manager, Lynn Melvin.
The school children were also able to view and learn about the full life-cycle of a brand new home from Cults Park’s project manager, Alan Whitelaw, before ending their visit with a tour of the showhomes.
Emma said: “It was a pleasure to welcome the Cults school pupils to Cults Park. The visit gave the children a chance to see and hear how a new community is formed, right from the planning application to the finished article.”
Morven McKay, deputy head teacher at Cults Primary School, said: “Our pupils thoroughly enjoyed their visit to CALA’s development in Cults. This was a fantastic opportunity to hear about the entire process of building homes and how every member of staff contributes.
“The visit formed part of a project on new communities and the visit really helped bring to life everything we have been discussing in the classroom.”
