QHSE Aberdeen has introduced new training to help organisations prepare for the recently published ISO 14001:2026 standard, supporting businesses across the North-east as they plan for the next phase of environmental management.
The updated standard reflects the increasing importance of sustainability within modern business operations. While not a complete overhaul of ISO 14001:2015, the 2026 revision introduces refinements aimed at improving usability, strengthening alignment with other ISO standards, and placing greater emphasis on environmental priorities such as climate change, biodiversity, and resource efficiency.
There is also a stronger focus on organisational context, risk-based thinking, and lifecycle impacts, encouraging businesses to take a more strategic and proactive approach to environmental performance. For many organisations, the key challenge will be translating these updates into practical changes within existing Environmental Management Systems.
In response, QHSE Aberdeen has developed a one-day ISO 14001:2026 Transition Course, delivered at its training hub in Westhill. The course is designed to support organisations in understanding the key changes to the standard, their implications and how to demonstrate compliance in practice.
A spokesperson for QHSE Aberdeen said: “The introduction of ISO 14001:2026 is a crucial step for organisations looking to strengthen their environmental performance. Our aim is to provide clear, practical support to help businesses understand what the changes mean and how to implement them effectively within their existing systems.”
Upcoming course dates include, 28th May & 6th August 2026.
For organisations unable to attend scheduled sessions, or those looking to train multiple team members, bespoke on-site training can also be arranged and tailored to specific operational requirements, offering additional flexibility.
As part of its ongoing support for the local business community, QHSE Aberdeen will also be sharing further information on upcoming booking offers linked to the May course.
Looking ahead, QHSE Aberdeen plans to introduce additional CQI and IRCA-certified EMS training courses from June 2026, including ISO 14001:2026 Auditor Conversion, supporting professionals seeking to update their qualifications.
As organisations begin preparing for the transition, early engagement and planning will be key to ensuring a smooth and effective implementation.
