Raeburn Christie Clark & Wallace (Raeburns) has been shortlisted in the Excellence in Community Care & Social Responsibility category at the Scottish Legal Awards, recognising the firm’s long-standing commitment to supporting charities, community organisations and local causes across the North East of Scotland.
While the award recognises activity over the past 12 months, it recognises something that is simply part of Raeburns’ culture. Fundraising and community engagement are driven by colleagues across the firm, who nominate causes close to their hearts, volunteer their time, and support organisations making a difference in the places where they live and work.
Over the past two years, colleagues across all branches and departments have helped raise more than £62,000 for Friend of ANCHOR. From marathons, cycling events to quiz nights, community events and a charity ball, there has been consistent support for a cause that holds personal significance for many within the firm.
That commitment continues through the firm’s current charity partnership with Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland. Colleagues have already taken part in a range of fundraising activities, including a firewalk, in-branch events and sporting challenges such as Run Garioch, with further fundraising planned throughout the year, including participation in the sold out Aberdeen Half Marathon later this month.
Alongside fundraising, colleagues continue to engage with schools, universities, community groups and local organisations through career events and outreach activities. The firm has also hosted events including a VE Day afternoon tea and Christmas lunch, bringing clients together to connect and enjoy these occasions.
Heather Stephen, Managing Partner of Raeburns, said, "We’re delighted to be shortlisted. What makes me most proud is the way colleagues across the firm get involved. From training for half marathons and cycle events to organising fundraising activities and community initiatives, people willingly give their time and energy to support causes that matter to them. It is a fantastic reflection of what we can achieve together for our charity partners.”
The winners will be announced at the Scottish Legal Awards later this year.
