The Russell Anderson Foundation’s inaugural Brunch Club has been voted a winner with more than £21,000 raised for the Aberdeen charity.

The event, held in the Skylark at the Marcliffe, was attended by 114 guests and RAF CEO Kim Woolner was encouraged by how well the afternoon flowed. “The venue was top class and it was an afternoon of fabulous food, wonderful company and excellent entertainment with the auction and raffle raising a fantastic sum which is hugely appreciated.

“I would also like to mention our sponsors Tulloch Recruitment, AMS Group and Jamieson & Carry for their contribution to an event that was really appreciated by those present.”

Formed in 2012, the Russell Anderson Foundation began by delivering free football sessions to children in some of the more socially deprived areas of the city.

These days, what RAF does encompasses so much more.  The whole ethos of the Foundation is to empower children to make good decisions and give them a chance to reach their potential.

RAF works with over 2,500 children on a weekly basis across ten partner schools in the city and, although a large part of the work remains focused on health and well-being and being physically active, RAF also works with the schools in other areas to improve attainment levels and help with better outcomes for the pupils.

This includes practical cooking lessons, food support, mentoring programmes, workplace visits and employability opportunities to name some of the programmes currently being delivered.
