MAC Architects are happy to share the news the planning application for the re-development of the Lairhillock Inn site has been recommended for approval by Aberdeenshire Council.
Unfortunately due to tough market conditions the Lairhillock Inn closed for business in early 2020 and avoiding the site falling into a state of disrepair has been re-developed as four luxury detached properties with an additional affordable home to meet the needs of housing stock within Aberdeenshire.
The site layout has been configured to represent a historical farm hub U-Shape steading ensuring we retain the distinctive and identifiable characteristics of the landscape.
In addition to the site layout the proposed housetype typology is a contemporary approach to rural architecture inspired by the landscape of the area and the existing historical vernacular. Strengthening this concept is the identity of our chosen material palette of finishes and textures appropriate to the rural setting and local character.
The site is currently for sale and any interested parties please contact MAC Architects on info@mac-architects.co.uk.
