Donald Trump has yet to make a final call on whether or not to launch strikes in Iran, despite approving an attack plan, it has been reported.

The US president held off from initiating strikes in case Iran agreed to abandon its nuclear programme, a senior intelligence source told CBS, the BBC's US partner.

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran's supreme leader, yesterday refused Trump's demand to surrender unconditionally.

When asked about US involvement in Iran, a non-committal Trump said: "I may do it, I may not do it."

The president is reportedly considering carrying out a strike on Fordo in Iran, an underground uranium enrichment facility.

Khamenei vowed that "the Iranian nation will not surrender", to which Trump responded "good luck", adding: "I mean, nobody knows what I'm going to do."
