A team from Reservoir Group joined a volunteer day with The River Dee Trust on March 16, helping to plant 1000 trees in the beautiful surroundings of the Allt Cholzie Burn, a tributary of the River Muick.

Volunteers planted a mixture of Rowan, Alder, Birch, Willow and Aspen, all native deciduous broadleaves, as part of the Trust’s One Million Trees campaign.

The award-winning campaign was launched in 2020 to counter rising water temperatures, the result of a lack of shade provided by tree cover, dangerously impacting the threatened Atlantic salmon, freshwater pearl mussel and otter.

The Reservoir team (including some of the most junior volunteers of the day) enjoyed glorious weather for its first volunteering effort for the Trust and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

A provider of tools and expertise to the global E&P community for over 70 years, the Reservoir Group’s Aberdeen team was keen to get involved with the Trust’s river restoration and sustainability efforts which align with the Group’s core values of integrity, bias for action and results.

The results of the team’s tree planting action will have a positive impact for many decades to come.
