Ikea has revealed its new Aberdeen branch in Union Square will open its doors to customers on Wednesday October 14.
The opening of the Union Square store follows a £750,000 project to transform the former Decathlon unit in the shopping centre, The Press and Journal reports.
The move has been much anticipated since the Swedish furniture store closed its Altens branch in March.
Meanwhile, sausage roll specialist Greggs could open a new bakery in Cults. Bakery bosses are looking at the possibility of taking over the former Costa shop on North Deeside Road, The P&J reports.
Greggs has submitted plans to Aberdeen City Council for the unit, which has only been empty since last month.
It comes as the bakery chain increases its presence in the region, with plans in the pipeline for branches is Blackburn, Peterhead and Banchory as well.
Elsewhere, The P&J reports Rosemount record shop Maidinvinyl is set to close its doors.
Announcing the closure on social media, the independent shop said it could "no longer sustain" "ongoing cost increases".
