RGC Camps has announced the return of its popular ‘Revision Academies’ for a second year, following outstanding feedback from pupils and parents and strong exam outcomes from the inaugural programme.
Held at Robert Gordon’s College’s award-winning campus in the heart of Aberdeen, the teacher-led study sessions were introduced to provide focused support for students preparing for their National 5 and Higher examinations. The academies aim to strengthen subject knowledge, develop effective exam techniques, and build pupil confidence ahead of assessments.
Following the first year, the programme received an average experience rating of 4.8 out of 5 stars, with 100% of pupils surveyed reporting they felt more confident in their understanding of the subject and would recommend RGC Revision Academies to a friend.
Parents have highlighted the positive impact on attainment, with one commenting: “Many thanks again - [my daughter] got an A1 for Chemistry! She found the camp so helpful and said around 40% of the marks were probably from that.”
Students have also praised the sessions for the structured approach and supportive environment: “The courses really helped me understand and practise exam questions, and provided lots of useful study material. I achieved four As and a B at Higher, which was beyond my expectations.”
Each session is led by experienced RGC teachers and delivered in small classes of no more than 12 pupils, ensuring individual attention and tailored guidance. Students work through challenging exam-style questions, refine exam strategies, and reinforce key learning in a supportive setting. The academies also represent strong value for families, costing the equivalent of less than £17 per hour for teacher-supported revision.
Building on the success of the first year, the programme has expanded for 2026 and now includes: National 5 Biology, Higher Biology, Higher Human Biology, National 5 Chemistry, Higher Chemistry, National 5 Physics, Higher Physics, as well as Higher Geography which is new for 2026.
Some sessions have already sold out, with only limited spaces remaining on others. Bookings will close on Friday 20 March to allow teachers time to assess pupils’ individual needs and prepare a bespoke learning experience for participants.
