RGU School of Law and Social Sciences have been announced as the local sponsors of hit musical Legally Blonde when it comes to Aberdeen’s His Majesty’s Theatre from Tuesday, June 23 to Saturday, June 27.

Based on the award-winning film starring Reese Witherspoon, Legally Blonde follows Elle Woods on her transformation from ‘It Girl’ fashionista to legal ace at Harvard Law School, all in the name of love. Elle must prove she is more than blonde ambition, swap the changing rooms for the courtroom and learn that ‘being true to yourself never goes out of style.’

Aberdeen Performing Arts Partnership Manager, Emma Gartland, said: “RGU School of Law and Social Sciences is a highly respected institution in our city, dedicated to empowering and educating students – so what better show to team up with than Legally Blonde, which, as well as being the ultimate feel-good romcom, is all about the value of integrity, hard work and self-discovery.

“We’re so grateful for this support, which will allow us to create even more opportunities to make the arts accessible for all.”

Emma added: “The "Locally Supported By" sponsorship is a great way to team up with local businesses across the north-east and match them with a show that aligns in theme or messaging, providing an opportunity to reach new audiences. RGU School of Law and Social Sciences has been a perfect match for Legally Blonde and we hope this is the first of many more partnerships to come.”

RGU School of Law and Social Sciences commented: “We are proud to support Legally Blonde, a show that captures a simple truth: the law belongs to everyone. At Robert Gordon

"University, our work-integrated learning approach reflects our belief in building confidence through preparing students from all backgrounds to succeed. Elle Woods shows that there is more than one way to ‘prove yourself beyond all reasonable doubt'.”
