Members of Robert Gordon University (RGU)’s International team are touring Vietnam this week, to show prospective applicants what they can expect from life as an RGU student.
They will visit two schools in Hai Phong on Thursday March 9 – Ngo Quyen High School and Tran Phu High School – before traveling to Hanoi’s Kim Lien High School on Friday March 10.
These visits will be opportunities for parents and students to meet with RGU’s representatives, learn about the university and see the wide range of courses and study options on offer.
There will also be information on admission requirements and anyone wishing to begin their application process will be given assistance in doing so.
Dan Bennett, RGU’s regional manager for East Asia, said: “These visits are always valuable excursions for myself and my colleagues and we look forward to meeting young people in the region and telling them all about life at RGU.
“Our aim is to give people all of the information they will need to understand the application process and make the right choice for them.”
Following these visits, RGU will take part in the Education UK Exhibition 2017.
This exhibition is arranged by the British Council and will take place over two days and two locations – Hanoi’s Pullman Hotel on Saturday March 11 and Ho Chi Minh City’s New World Hotel on Sunday March 12.
The events are open to all potential students, parents, career advisers and educational managers, where they can explore study options with representatives from around 30 UK institutions.
In addition to meeting exhibitors, attendees will also have the opportunity to attend presentations delivered by staff and academics from various universities, on subjects that would be of interest to potential students in the region.
Dan Bennett said: “Courses like Hospitality, International Tourism Management and Life Sciences have proved to be popular choices for Vietnamese students in recent years and we have a proven track record of being one of the UK’s top universities in these areas.
“The Guardian University Guide has ranked our School of Pharmacy and Life Sciences as best of its subject in Scotland, while we’re in the UK top 15 for Hospitality and Tourism Management in both The Guardian and The Complete University Guide.”
In addition to visits to the region, the university has built strong links with East and Southeast Asia. This includes having secured partnerships with a number of establishments in China, such as Chongqing’s South West University, Wuhan Polytechnic University and China University of Petroleum.
By combining RGU’s expertise and access to local institutions, international students will continue to benefit from RGU’s reputation as the top Scottish university for graduate prospects and employability.
