RGU’s online MBA programme ranked first in world for class experience

Robert Gordon University’s (RGU) online MBA programme has ranked first in the world for class experience.

The QS Distance Online MBA Ranking 2018 has been released and show that RGU’s online MBA programme, taught at Aberdeen Business School, scored highest (100%) for class experience.

Out of 50 global online MBA programmes from around the world included in this year’s rankings, RGU also came second (with a score of 99.9%) for its faculty and teaching and was ranked joint 15th in the world overall.

Dr Ian Broadbent, MBA Director at RGU, said: “It’s great that the quality of our online MBA has been recognised in these global rankings, and core elements of the student experience such as Leadership Week and the applied Consultancy Project are particularly valued by our students.

“The high rating for teaching and faculty on the programme is also very pleasing in light of the hard work of staff at Aberdeen Business School that allowed us to achieve AACSB accreditation earlier this year.”

The global higher education analysts, best-known for compiling the QS World University Rankings, launched the table as an attempt to pioneer independent, robust comparisons of online education courses.

The 2018 edition of the QS World University Rankings: Distance Online MBA – the largest global ranking of its kind – is designed to respond to the lack of comparative data about the quality of online educational offerings, and evaluates 50 prominent distance MBA programs.

RGU's MBA programme has been featured in various QS lists in recent years as it is designed with students' aspirations and industry demand in mind and focuses on academic underpinning and ethical practice, behavioural skills, career mentoring, personal development and industry engagement through guest lectures, projects and networking events.

The university has over 1500 MBA alumni and approximately 250 students currently studying on the programme.

Courses are delivered through flexible study options of full-time, part-time and distance learning. Locally-based students in full-time employment can attend classes via a series of weekend workshops, designed to allow study alongside work commitments.

Students from as far afield as Alaska and New Zealand to London and Glasgow have completed an MBA at RGU via online distance learning.
