University of Aberdeen student Daisy MacCallum will showcase her talents as a singer-songwriter at the upcoming Aberdeen Music Week.

Performing as Daisy Mack, the 20-year-old has been selected as one of the performers for the four-day celebration of music, community and creative exchange running from August 20-August 23.

She will perform a set of her songs at Unit 51 on August 23 as part of the Day Four programme which will be headlined by Gerry Jablonski Band.

Daisy, who is in the third year of an English with Music Studies degree, was previously selected for the 2024 Hit the Road music touring project, which launched the careers of stars including Lewis Capaldi.

She is using her English with Music Studies to support her songwriting.

Daisy said: “I'm delighted to have been selected to perform at Aberdeen Music Week as it will help me further my music career as a singer-songwriter.

“Being selected for this follows on from December, when I was selected to go on tour with Hit The Road, playing shows in Dunfermline, Edinburgh and Aberdeen, and headlining the show in Aberdeen at The Tunnels.

“I’m excited for my opportunity to play this festival, especially as it’s a festival celebrating the creative and musical scene in Aberdeen. I’m looking forward to playing some of my songs at it. I’ve always loved telling stories, and songwriting for me mixes my love of music and English. Songwriting is one of the reasons I study English with Music Studies.”
