The River Dee Trust is thrilled to welcome the continued support of River Dee Guardian, RigRun.

RigRun and its growing community of RigRunners have played an important role in supporting the Trust’s conservation work raising over £20,000 since 2023, directly contributing to the Trust’s award-winning One Million Trees campaign. These funds are helping to create vital shade for threatened species, reduce the impacts of rising water temperatures and enhance biodiversity at a critical time for freshwater ecosystems.

Highlighting her pride in supporting the Trust, Louise Martin, CEO & Founder of RigRun, credited the scale of the impact to the community itself: “It’s down to the amazing RigRunners. They’ve made it happen.”

What makes the partnership particularly impactful is RigRun’s ability to align workplace wellbeing with environmental responsibility. Through its platform, RigRun supports individuals working in remote and high‑risk environments to stay active, connected and resilient, while enabling organisations to strengthen safety, wellbeing and ESG commitments.

Claire Fleming, Engagement Officer at the River Dee Trust, said: “I’ve heard first‑hand from RigRunners who picture their runs along the River Dee while logging miles on a treadmill, often on offshore platforms far from home. It’s a powerful reminder of how this partnership connects people to place, even at a distance.”

RigRun’s support extends well beyond fundraising. Sustainability, wellbeing and responsibility are embedded in its business model, closely aligning with the Trust’s mission to protect and restore one of the UK’s most ecologically significant rivers.

Claire continues: “We are so grateful for RigRun’s continued commitment and the enthusiasm of its community. Partnerships such as this highlight the positive role businesses can play in delivering lasting environmental and social impact.”
