Robert Gordon University Scotland invests £1.5m in international scholarships

Robert Gordon University (RGU) is offering £1.5million in scholarships for international students to study in the North East of Scotland.

Talented students from around the globe have the opportunity to benefit from a number of scholarships being offered by RGU across a wide range of subjects at undergraduate and postgraduate level courses.

RGU’s scholarship offering is part of its commitment to attract top students from across the world to Aberdeen in the North East of Scotland, providing a diverse university community and multicultural learning environment.

The scholarships range from £500 to £15,000 and take a variety of forms from offering a discount on courses to funding the first year of study and to covering the full cost of degrees.

Professor David Ashall, Dean of Student Recruitment at RGU, says: “Promoting international diversity is hugely important to RGU and we are proud to be able to offer highly valuable scholarship opportunities to students from around the globe.

“Our scholarship opportunities exist to attract the most talented and hard working professionals from around the world to RGU and help to ease the financial implications of studying overseas.

“Scotland welcomes thousands of international students from more than 130 countries each year and we want to build on this by attracting more students to study at RGU, promoting what is at the very core of the RGU ethos – inclusion and multiculturalism.”

In addition to its own scholarship offerings and its industry funded bursaries, RGU participates in a number of national scholarships including the British Council India ‘GREAT’ Scholarship programme, which provides £10,000 in funding to international students looking to study architecture, computer science and engineering and pharmacy and life sciences subjects.

RGU is also an associate of Scotland’s Saltire Scholarship Scheme which sees the university and the Scottish Government jointly fund £4,000 study bursaries for citizens and permanent residents of China, Canada, Hong Kong, India and Pakistan.
