His Majesty’s Royal Marine Band are set to perform at a Rotary Club charity night in Aviemore next month.
The Rotary Club of Spey Valley has organised the night in the auditorium of the Macdonald Aviemore Resort for Wednesday, May 29.
A range of charities will benefit from the night including Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland, Scotland’s largest health charity.
The Royal Marine Band Scotland are currently based in Rosyth and are one of the five bands that make up the musical wing of the Royal Navy. They boost troop morale, support international diplomacy and pay tribute to their comrades.
Anne Magarin, Community, Events and Corporate Fundraiser for Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland, said: “We would like to thank the Rotary Club of Spey Valley for holding this charity concert and raising money for us. With the Royal Marine Band performing it should be a wonderful night of music for a variety of good causes.
“The money raised will help CHSS to support the 1 in 5 people across the country who are living with chest, heart and stroke conditions and Long Covid to live their lives to the full.”
It has been years since a full military band has performed in the Highlands. A range of Rotary causes will have funds raised for them including Climb to Recovery, a service charity which assists service personnel who have lost limbs in conflict.
