Aberdeen-based Rubislaw Furniture Solutions is expanding into the commercial furniture market with the launch of its new Manhattan Collection.

The new range has been developed to offer the build quality and design associated with Rubislaw Furniture Solutions at a deliberately accessible price point, while also meeting the demands of commercial environments.

Importantly, the Manhattan Collection is upholstered in Crib 5 fabric as standard, making it suitable for a wide variety of commercial applications including hotels, offices, student accommodation and offshore accommodation modules.

The move represents another step in the development of Rubislaw Furniture Solutions, which has built its reputation by sourcing high-quality ex-display and end-of-season furniture at substantial savings against traditional retail prices, alongside developing its own exclusive furniture collections.

Founder James Cummings said: “We saw a gap for furniture that looks good, is built properly and can cope with the demands of a commercial environment, without the price becoming prohibitive.

“With Manhattan, the challenge was to create something at a very sensible price point without compromising on the areas that matter. Making Crib 5 upholstery standard was an important part of that because it immediately gives the collection much wider potential.

“We already work with landlords and other business customers, so moving further into the commercial sector feels like a natural progression for us.”

Inspired by contemporary New York loft living, the Manhattan Collection combines a clean, modern design with a specification intended to work equally well in residential and commercial interiors.

The range will initially be available as a two-seater sofa priced at £799 and a three-seater at £899, across four colour options.

Rubislaw Furniture Solutions believes the combination of commercial-grade upholstery, strong build quality and competitive pricing could make the collection particularly attractive to businesses and organisations furnishing multiple rooms or properties.

The company will now actively target opportunities across the hospitality, office, student accommodation and offshore sectors while continuing to develop its residential furniture business.

Cummings added: “We’ve grown Rubislaw by doing things a little differently and by being very conscious of value for money. The Manhattan Collection takes that same approach into a market where we think there is a real opportunity for us.”

The Manhattan Collection will be available through Rubislaw Furniture Solutions in Aberdeen, with delivery available throughout the UK.
